International missions here at Center Grove includes reaching unbelievers and making disciples in Southeast Asia through our partnership with International Commission (IC) and the Chetwood Family. Jeff and Jodie Chetwood have a heart for evangelism and sharing Christ with people groups in this part of the world. God is still building His kingdom in these countries even through COVID travel restrictions. We look forward to seeing what other ways we might support Jeff, Jodie and the IC in the future!
This past February, we had a great time with two of our partner families in London, the Porters and Messersmiths, via a Zoom call. Over 60 participants from four churches here in the states were able to hear how the London lockdown is effecting families and how we in the U.S. could pray for them.
In fact, from this Zoom call, God has laid it on the heart of one of our Center Grove Life Groups to begin praying specifically for these families and their ministries in the UK! If you feel led to support any of our partners through prayer, do not hesitate to contact me, Mitch Monroe, by email. I would love to get you connected with any of our mission partners.
If the gospel is true, we might expect it to have made a difference to the world, and it has! It's called history! Many of the heroes of history have made an impact in London. People like William Wilberforce, John Newton, Elizabeth Fry, William Tyndale, John Wesley, George Whitefield, Charles Spurgeon and others. They were ordinary people who believed in what an extraordinary God has done to save us.
This month, come with us on a virtual walk through their stories. Be inspired by what God has done in the past and encouraged by what God can still do in our cities today! This Virtual Church History Walk in London is on March 14 from 3 - 4pm and you can register right here. Upon registration, you'll receive a confirmation email with the unique Zoom meeting room where we will host our virtual tour.
City Lights Ministry in Winston-Salem is one of our local community partners for the sake of the Gospel. They are truly boots on the ground in some of the most un-reached neighborhoods right in our city and it's a joy to serve alongside them! The last weekend in March, they are hosting an "Easter Egg Hunt" for the kids and families in they serve at their facility downtown and we are going to help make it happen by donating the eggs! Our goal is to donate 5,000 eggs (yes - 5,000) toward the event. Full details on how to partner and donate Easter eggs can be found right here.
