It is hard to believe that one year ago we were settling into a season of lockdown - not only as a church, but as a community, nation, and world. Now, as things begin to open up and return to normal, missions opportunities will become a reality again! As we take stock of what God has done during this time of lockdown, let’s also pray that He will open our eyes to the new opportunities He has given us as a church in our community, nation, and world.
Jeff and Jodie Chetwood (members of the CG Family) have an opportunity through the International Commission (IC) to be a part of a team heading to Mongolia this summer! This trip will happen July 21 - August 3. The IC equips churches to send out short-term teams working in evangelism and discipleship with host churches worldwide. They provide training and materials for project preparation, evangelism and discipleship. Jeff and Jodie have a heart for those who haven’t yet heard the gospel and would enjoy getting you details on this trip. If interested, simply reach out to them at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
It was so great to have Aaron Cavin and his family with us this past month. How encouraging to hear what God is doing in the greater Boston area and how people are responding to the gospel! If you were unable to attend that service, head back and hear what life on mission is all about - not only in Boston, but wherever we live, work or play. We're also excited to share (and ask you to pray!) for Landon Wilson, a recent grad of our CGStudents, who will be joining Aaron’s team as an intern for eight weeks beginning this month.
With COVID restrictions being eased, this summer will surely be a time for many to open time away with those they love. As you plan out your summer, we encourage you to remember that our local partnering agencies are still around with many unmet needs. You can find a list of those community agencies by heading on over to the Outreach Page. We pray you will find some way to serve as a family this summer!
June 21 is the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year. It's also the beginning of SWO Summer Camp and Summer Adventure!
SWO is a student camp for middle and high school students, running June 21 - 26. Registration is full, but you can be a huge part of this event by praying! Summer camp is life-changing for so many students each year. Pray for God to work in their hearts as only He can during this week.
Summer Adventure is a VBS-style event for families and kids happening June 21 - 23. If you know a child or family that would like to attend, point them to the events page at cglife.org or contact our CGKids Director, Madonna Wright at MadonnaW@cglife.org.
