January Missions Update

As we stand at the beginning of a new month and year, it gives us an opportunity to pause, look back and see how God has advanced His kingdom through CGMissions efforts.

Last year was anything but normal, and the challenges COVID presented stretched us as a body of believers. But God (my favorite two words) still worked through us to send out the gospel and build His kingdom. Let's look at some of the ways that God has worked this past month and year!

COVID may have prevented us from loving on the women and men's ministries as we usually do with our annual Christmas Outreach Dinners...but God. Because of His generosity through His people, we were still able to provide Christmas gifts, toiletries, and much-needed clothing items to over 290 men, women and kids in need! We also saw our life groups come together to provide Christmas for 24 Center Grove families through our Angel Tree sponsorships during the months of November and December.

Even though we couldn't minister in-person this year, God worked through your generous giving and faithfulness to serve to make an impact in Jesus' name. Thank you!

When we think about missions, one of the first things that often comes to mind is sharing the gospel of Jesus. In 2020, churches around the nation had to get creative in getting the gospel message out when many could not meet in person. The family of Center Grove gives so faithfully, that we were able to provide communications equipment to Life Community Church in Massachusetts without hesitation. This equipment allowed our North American church partner to stream weekly worship services and teaching to their congregation and community.

The lead pastor of Life Community Church, Aaron Cavin, wanted to share a few words with Center Grove, "Because of the generosity of the Center Grove family, we've been able to continue the mission God has called us to virtually. The camera equipment Center Grove purchased has allowed us to take the church into the living rooms of those who otherwise we would've been unable to connect with. Thank you for your partnership and support!"

If you'd like to learn more about Pastor Aaron and Life Community Church, you can head over to their webpage at LCC or follow them on Facebook. Better yet, consider joining one of our future short-term mission trips to Boston and get to know and serve the LCC family in person! As COVID restrictions begin to loosen up, we will be updating you on dates for those trips.

Grow & Serve

The Lottie Moon Offering is a special way to serve through stewardship toward the advancement of the gospel around the world. We will continue collecting this offering in the month of January with 100% of funds supporting missionaries through the IMB. Head here to give to Lottie Moon online or drop your gift in an offering bucket on Sunday morning. Just be sure to designate your gift as "Lottie Moon."

Center Grove's missional outreach is growing through our connections in London! We are working toward partnering with, coming alongside and supporting a church in the UK through a long-term partnership. We plan to share more about these connections and how you can participate in future newsletters.
