Here are some ideas to get you started with taking the spirit of Harvest into your home and neighborhood. Our heart is to see the values Harvest has always been built on become the foundation for "Harvest at Home" throughout or community.
Take a prayer walk around your neighborhood or sit on your front porch consistently - praying for:
Families by name
People feeling isolated and lonely
Those you will have a chance to connect with on Halloween
The Lord to provide opportunities for good, gospel conversations
Other areas where the Holy Spirit leads
Pack goodie bags with items to pass out or drop off. You could include: candy, gift cards, small toys, handwritten cards, items to share the Gospel
Gather in your driveway to pass out candy, treats, stew or chili. Think about how to do this safely (masks, prepackaged items, one person serving each item). Here are some GREAT chicken stew recipes!
Park your vehicle at the end of your driveway to pass out treats.
Build a fire for neighbors to gather around and warm up!
Decorate your home, vehicle or a tent with a Gospel centered theme like you would for trunk or treat.
Get your life group or friends together for Harvest at Home at one house. Everyone can pitch in and provide different items. Fellowship with others while reaching the community around you! Do you have other Center Grove families in your neighborhood? Why not get together and host Harvest at Home together!
Pass out or drop off treat/care bags to those around you. Think about the elderly or others who are not able to get out during this time. Is there a family the Lord has placed on your heart that lives near you? Now would be the perfect time to connect!
Share scripture ofJesus being the light of the world:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
"I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness." John 12:46
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Fun ways to share scripture:
Chalk in your driveway
Chalkboards or poster boards
Include Gospel-centered items in goodie bags/baskets:

Consider including children’s Bibles
Include printed Bible stories or activities incorporating the Gospel
